特徴

• Ly-6 antigens are a group of highly homologous, GPI anchored surface proteins which might have a role in cell adhesion and signaling in Keratinocytes.
• These proteins are highly expressed in several cancers including HNSCC.
• Ly-6K has been identified as a novel member of this family using comprehensive gene-screening and expression analysis.
• It is a human homolog of murine ly-6K and is located on chromosome 8q24.
• It consists of 10 conserved cysteine residues and harbors a sequence that theoretically determines GPI anchoring.
• It is selectively expressed in HNSCC and normal squamous cells.
• Its expression has also been observed in HNSCC cell lines devoid of E48 antigen.
• Ly-6K can be further evaluated as a target antigen for HNSCC diagnosis and therapy.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA and Immunohistochemistry.
