Lymphocyte-specific protein-tyrosine kinase (Lck), also known as p56Lck and Lsk, is a member of the Src family of non-receptor tyrosine kinases.
First identified as a gene rearranged and overexpressed in murine lymphomas, lck behaves as a proto-oncogene and its activation can lead to cellular transformation.
Lck protein is anchored to the plasma membrane and interacts with the intracellular domains of CD4/CD8 co-receptors in T lymphocytes.
