The neurotransmitter, serotonin, is thought to play a role in various cognitive and behavioral functions.
The serotonin receptor encoded by this gene belongs to the superfamily of G protein-coupled receptors and the gene is a candidate locus for involvement in autistic disorder and other neuropsychiatric disorders.
Three splice variants have been identified which encode proteins that differ in the length of their carboxy terminal ends
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions: Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:16,000Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml; ~50kD band observed in lysates of cell line KELLY (calculated MW of 49.5kD according to NP_000863.1).
An additional band of unknown identity was also consistently observed at 37kD.
This band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
