This gene encodes a member of the DEAD box protein family.
The protein is an RNA helicase found in P-bodies and stress granules, and functions in translation suppression and mRNA degradation.
It is required for microRNA-induced gene silencing.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions: Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:16,000Western Blot: 0.1-0.3ug/ml ~ 50kD band observed in lysates of cell line Jurkat (calculated MW of 53.2kD according to NP_NP_004388.1).
In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing Human DDX6 a band of approx.
55kD is observed.
This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293.

Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
