Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis.
Most MMPs are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases.
MMP3 is an enzyme which degrades fibronectin, laminin, collagens III, IV, IX, and X, and cartilage proteoglycans.
The enzyme is thought to be involved in wound repair, progression of atherosclerosis, and tumor initiation.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Indirect Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:ELISA: 1:1000Western Blot: 1:50-1:100Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
