The kappa immunoglobulin light chain comprises ~60% of light chains in humans.
Immunohistochemical detection of immunoglobulins is useful in determining the lymphoid origin of tissues and in the assessment of lymphoid proliferations as reactive or malignant.
The assessment of light chain status is particularly important in this regard as it may be used to demonstrate the clonal nature of a tumor.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry.
