TAP1 is an 81kD membrane-associated protein which is a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily and together with the homologous subunit TAP2 forms the functional TAP complex.
TAP1 is involved in the transport of antigenic peptides from the cytosol into the endoplasmic reticulum, where they associate with major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules.
These complexes are presented at the cell surface to T-lymphocytes, which identify and remove infected or malignantly transformed cells.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:10,000Western Blot: 1:1000 detects a band of ~72kD
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
