Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) catalyzes the pivotal step of the fatty acid synthesis pathway.
The 265kD ACCalpha (ACC1) is the predominant isoform found in liver, adipocytes and mammary gland, while the 280kD ACCbeta (ACC2) is the major isoform in skeletal muscle and heart (1).
Phosphorylation by AMPK at Ser79 or by PKA at Ser1200 inhibits the enzymatic activity of ACC (2).
ACC is a potential target of anti-obesity drugs (3,4).
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:1000 Incubate membrane with diluted antibody in 5% BSA, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween-20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight.
Immunoprecipitation: 1:50 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
