• Dermcidin is a secreted protein that is subsequently processed into mature peptides of distinct biological activities.
• The C-terminal peptide is constitutively expressed in sweat and has antibacterial and antifungal activities.
• The N-terminal peptide, also known as diffusible survival evasion peptide, promotes neural cell survival under conditions of severe oxidative stress.
• A glycosylated form of the N-terminal peptide may be associated with cachexia (muscle wasting) in cancer patients.
• Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilutions:ELISA: 1:60,000Western Blot: 1:10,000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
• Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
• Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
• Store at -20°C.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
