It catalyzes the following reaction:Ascorbic acid + O2 -----> Dehydroascorbic acid + H2O
Ascorbate Oxidase is widely distributed and is only present in plants.
Its biological role in plants is still not clear.
Studies after increasing and reducing the enzyme activity suggest that it has a positive effect on plant growth.
In addition, it has been proposed that the enzyme may be involved in plant defense by modifying the ascorbate level and thus redox state in apoplast.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:25,000-1:125,000Western Blot:1:2000-1:10,000Immunoprecipitation: 1:100Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
