PDX-1 (Pancreas-duodenum homeobox 1; also IPF-1, IDX-1, STF-1, GSF and IUF-1) is a 42kD member of the IPF-1 subfamily, ANTP homeobox family of proteins.
It is expressed in developing pancreas, plus pancreatic beta-cells, and duodenal crypt epithelium.
In concert with HNF6, PDX-1 drives pancreatic endocrine cell formation by regulating the expression of neurogenin-3.
In adult beta-cells, PDX-1 binds to PCIF-1 to regulate insulin production.
Mouse PDX-1 is 284aa in length (Accession # P52946).
It contains one transactivation domain (aa13-73) a PBX1 P-P-M-W-K dimerization motif (aa119-124), and a DNA-binding homeodomain with an embedded NLS (aa148-206).
Full-length mouse PDX-1 shares 94% and 88% aa identity with rat and human PDX-1, respectively.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistocehmistry and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.

Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile PBS.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
