p55g (Protein of 55kD, gamma subunit; also PI 3-Kinase regulatory subunit gamma and p55 PIK) is a 55-57kD member of the PI 3K p85 family of regulatory subunits.
It is widely expressed and serves as a recruitment subunit for the p110 catalytic subunit of PI 3-Kinase.
p55g/p55 PIK should not be confused with the 55kD alpha splice variant of the p85 alpha gene (75% aa identity).
Human p55g is 461aa in length and contains a unique 34aa N-terminus that binds Rb and prevents cycle progression, followed by a Pro-rich region (aa35-44) and two SH2 domains that bind the p110 catalytic subunit (aa65-160 and 358-452).
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.

Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
Stable for 12 months at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile PBS, sterile 40-50% glycerol, 0.02% sodium azide, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
