Glutamate receptors are the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the mammalian brain and are activated in a variety of normal neurophysiologic processes (1).
Grik2, also known as glutamate receptor 6, belongs to the kainate family of glutamate receptors, which are composed of four subunits and function as ligand-activated ion channels (2,3).
Recent reports have suggested that defects in the Grik2 protein may be associated with autosomal recessive mental retardation and possibly other neurological disorders such as schizophrenia (4,5).
Numerous isoforms of Grik2 are known to exist and may be subject to RNA editing within the second transmembrane domain, which is thought to alter the properties of ion flow (6).
This Grik2 antibody may exhibit some cross-reactivity to Grik3.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.

Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 0.5–1ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
