Apolipoproteins which are present in human plasma transport circulating lipids throughout the body.
Abnormal concentrations of these proteins in the blood have been correlated with atherosclerotic disorders including coronary heart disease and cerebrovascular disease.
Approximately 50% of the HDL particle is protein, 70% Apo AI and 20% Apo AII.
LDL contains approximately 20% protein, 95% of which is Apo B100.
Apo C's, Apo B and Apo E are found in VLDL particles, accounting for approximately 10% of this particle.
