Interleukin-34, or IL-34 is a newly discovered interleukin.
It was found in a massive screen of secreted proteins by Lin et al.
at Five Prime Therapeutics, a company based on the Mission Bay campus of UCSF.
IL-34 increases monocyte viablity and acts through its receptor colony-stimulating factor 1.
The protein is 39kD in size and forms homodimers.
Applications:Suitable for ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1ug/ml.
Tissue lysates were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to an Immobilon-P membrane and immunoblotted with 1ug/ml sheep anti-mIL-34
ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect mouse IL-34.
The detection limit for rmIL-34 is approximately 0.5ng/well.
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile PBS and store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
