Syntabulin (also Golgi-localized synaphilin-related protein) is a 75kD molecule that belongs to the syntaxin-binding and kinesin-1 family of motor adaptor proteins.
It is highly spliced, with various forms associated with different tissues.
In neurons, it anchors syntaxin-1 to KIF5B, creating a complex by which synaptic components can be transported to synaptic terminals.
Human Syntabulin is a type II transmembrane (TM) protein 663aa in length.
It contains one coiled-coil region (aa271-353) and a TM domain between aa 606-626.
Alternate splice forms show alternate start sites at Met120 and Met207, a five aa substitution for aa1-8, a 16aa insertion after Lys8, and an eight aa substitution for aa1-76.
Over aa486-653, human Syntabulin shares 83% aa identity with mouse Syntabulin.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/mlWestern Blot: 1.0ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
