CRF21 (Cytochrome c-releasing factor 21; also C7orf24 or LOC79017) is a 21kD AIG2-like family member.
It is a cytosolic protein that induces the release of Cytochrome c from mitochondria, possibly initiating apoptosis.
Human CRF21 is 188aa in length and is a complex of beta-sheets and alpha-helices that create two terminal domains.
It has been proposed that CRF21 forms homodimers.
There are at least two possible splice variants of human CRF21, one showing a 70aa substitution, while the second variant shows an 18aa substitution for aa97-188.
Full-length human CRF21 is 82% aa identical to mouse CRF21.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1.0ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
