Bub3 (Budding uninhibited by benzimidazoles 3 homolog; also Mitotic checkpoint protein Bub3) is a 35-40kD member of the WD repeat Bub3 family of molecules.
It plays a key role in chromosome segregation by serving as a component of the mitotic checkpoint complex.
This complex inhibits Cdc20, and E3 ubiquitin ligase that initiates the metaphase to anaphase transition, until microtubules are properly aligned with, and bound to, chromatid kinetochores.
Human Bub3 is 328aa in length.
It contains five WD40 repeats (aa5-43, 46-83, 86-124, 128- 163 and 223-262) plus a phosphorylation site at Ser211 and a Lys at #216 that may form an interchain crosslink with Gly.
There are two splice variants that show two or four aa deletion over the four C-terminal amino acids.
Full-length human and mouse Bub3 share 99% aa identity.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.

For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
