• Plasma alpha 1-acid concentration increases in response to inflammation and infection.
• alpha 1-acid glycoprotein belongs to the lipocalin family and binds numerous basic and neutral lipophilic drugs and steroid hormones.
• It is a 183aa protein with 5 N-linked glycans that comprises 45% of the 43kD mass of the protein.
• The human and mouse protein share 43% aa sequence identity.
• Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/mlWestern Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
• Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C.
• Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
