• FTH1 is the heavy subunit of ferritin, the major intracellular iron storage protein in prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
• It is composed of 24 subunits of the heavy and light ferritin chains.
• Variation in ferritin subunit composition may affect the rates of iron uptake and release in different tissues.
• A major function of ferritin is the storage of iron in a soluble and nontoxic state.
• Defects in ferritin proteins are associated with several neurodegenerative diseases.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Peptide ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilutions:Peptide ELISA: 1:4,000.
• Western Blot: 0.03-0.1ug/ml.
• A band at ~22kD band was observed in Human Brain (Cerebellum), Liver and Placenta lysates.
• Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): Shows strong staining of PCT cytoplasm, but not in DCT cytoplasm in human kidney.
• Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
• Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
• Store at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable for 12 months.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
