N-Myc is a 49.5kD nuclear phosphoprotein that contains a basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper domain involved in DNA binding and protein dimerization.
It regulates gene expression by dimerizing with itself or other helix-loop-helix proteins and this complex binds to DNA E-box sequences of regulated genes.
N-Myc is expressed in high levels during embryonic development and in the adult during B-cell differentiation.
It is overexpressed in a variety of tumors, aminly neuroblastomas and is associated with rapid progression and poor prognosis.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:500Western Blot: 1:500Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
