• Cellular Localization:Cytoplasm; perinuclear region.

• In mitotic cells, localized to the poles of the spindle.
• Tissue Specificity:Highly expressed in brain, particularly in the substantia nigra.

• Weak expression in pancreas, kidney and lung.
• PTM: Phosphorylated.
• Phosphorylation by GRK5 appears to occur on residues distinct from the residue phosphorylated by other kinases.
• Disease: Brain iron accumulation type 1 (NBIA1, also called Hallervorden-Spatz syndrome), a rare neuroaxonal dystrophy, is histologically characterized by axonal spheroids, iron deposition, Lewy body (LB)-like intraneuronal inclusions, glial inclusions and neurofibrillary tangles.
• SNCG is found in spheroids but not in inclusions.
• Belongs to the synuclein family.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.

• Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
• For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
