- Vimentin is a member of the intermediate filament protein family.
- Intermediate filaments are an important structural feature of eukaryotic cells.
- They, along with microtubules and actin microfilaments, make up the cytoskeleton.
- Although most intermediate filaments form stable structures, in fibroblasts, vimentin exists as a dynamic structure.
- Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
- Other applications not tested.
- Recommended Dilutions:ELISA: 0.05-0.2ug/mlWestern Blot: 0.5-1ug/mlImmunohistochemistry: 5-10ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
- Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
- Stable for 12 months at -20°C.
- Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
- Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
- Store at -20°C.
- Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
- For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
- Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
