Lysyl oxidase (LOX) is an extracellular enzyme that is critical for the normal biosynthesis of collagens and elastin.
LOX is synthesized as a 50kD precursor, secreted into the extracellular matrix and subsequently proteolytically processed to a 30kD active enzyme and an 18kD propeptide.
LOX also reverts ras-mediated transformation and its expression is down-regulated in human cancers.
Most recently, the lysyl oxidase pro-peptide (LOPP) has been associated with tumor suppression, as it inhibits ras-dependent cellular transformation.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Immunohistochemistry: 0.5-1ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:MC3T3-E1 lysate
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
