Iron regulatory protein 2 (IRP2) is a central post-transcriptional regulator of cellular and systemic iron metabolism.
It is a cytosolic RNA-binding protein that binds to stem-loop structures.
IRP2 is regulated by iron-mediated proteolysis
Hypoxia is important for normal tissue physiology as well as being a component of several pathophysiological conditions, including heart and cerebrovascular diseases and tumor growth.
Because iron and oxygen are closely related, IRP2 also plays a role during hypoxia (low oxygen).
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry.
Heat Induced antigen retrieval with 10mM sodium citrate buffer, pH 9.0 and endogenous peroxidase quenching with peroxide block is needed for paraffin sections
