• COX2 (Cyclooxygenase 2) is an inducible enzyme.
• It is involved in the response of cells to growth factors, tumor promoters, and cytokines that induce its expression.
• Given its role in synthesizing prostaglandins, COX2 is therefore of interest in studying immune response regulation.
• COX2 is induced by a wide variety of stimuli and was initially identified as immediate early growth response gene.
• In addition, COX2 expression markedly increased in 85-90% of human colorectal adenocarcinoma whereas COX1 levels remain unchanged.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilutions:Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin):1:50-1:100 for 10 minutes at RT.
• Boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 minutes followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes is required
• Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:1:500Western Blot: 1:100-1:2000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Positive Control:Lung carcinoma and colon carcinoma
• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C.
• For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4°C.
• Do not freeze.
• Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
