This gene is a member of the leucine-rich repeat kinase family and encodes a protein with an ankryin repeat region, a leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domain, a kinase domain, a DFG-like motif, a RAS domain, a GTPase domain, a MLK-like domain, and a WD40 domain.
The protein is present largely in the cytoplasm but also associates with the mitochondrial outer membrane.
Mutations in this gene have been associated with Parkinson disease-8.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 2 ug/ml, A band is seen at ~284kD.
There is a band at ~171 and 117kD, as well as several lower molecular weight, non-specific bands.
Immunohistochemistry: 2.5-5.0ug/ml, (Paraffin): 2.5-5.0ug/mlOptimal dilution determined by the researcher.
Positive Controls: Mouse brain lysate
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
