cAMP responsive element binding protein (CREB) is a 43kD leucine zipper transcription factor that stimulates transcription and gene expression after its phosphorylation on serine residues.
CREB plays an important role in development, glucose homeostasis and growth-factor-dependent cell survival and is implicated in learning and memory.
The phosphorylation of CREB at GSK-3β and PKA sites (serines 129 and 133, respectively) is essential for its transcriptional activity.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blotting: 1:1000-1:2000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control Used: NIH3T3 cells +/- PDGF, Y-1 cells.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage, store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
