Serpin B8 (serine proteinase inhibitor-clade B #8; also NK10) is a 42-45 kD, cytoplasmic and secreted member of the ovalbumin (clade B)-subfamily, Serpin superfamily of protease inhibitors.
It is produced by multiple cell types and shows inhibitory activity towards furin and possibly other proteinases such as chymotrypsin.
Mouse Serpin B8 is 374 amino acids (aa) in length.
Although it has no signal sequence, it is likely to be released by platelets.
The active inhibitory site lies between Arg336 and Arg342.
One potential isoform shows a 4 aa substitution for the C-terminal 133 amino acids.
Full length mouse Serpin B8 shares 78% and 91% aa identity with human and rat Serpin B8, respectively.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and ELISA.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/mlOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
