Serpin A6 (also known as corticosteroid-binding globulin/CBG and Transcortin) is a 50-60kD, secreted glycoprotein member of the serpin family of protease inhibitors.
It is produced by hepatocytes and transports >90% of circulating cortisol.
Although Serpin A6 is a serpin family member, it shows no protease inhibition.
Mature mouse Serpin A6 is 375aa in length.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Direct ELISA.
Detection limit for recombinant mouse Serpin 6 is ~0.5ng/ml under non-reducing and reducing conditions
Immunohistochemistry: 5-15ug/ml detects mouse Serpin 6 in cells and tissues
