Integrin β5 is a 100-110kD type I transmembrane glycoprotein that forms a non-disulfide-linked heterodimer with Integrin αV.
Integrin αVβ5 is a receptor for vitronectin that is expressed on a wide variety of cell types including keratinocytes, fibroblasts, adhesive monocytes, and select endothelium.
The 696 amino acid residue Integrin β5 extracellular region contains a vWF-A domain and a cysteine-rich tandem repeat region.
Human Integrin β5 shares 91% and 89% amino acid sequence homology with mouse and canine Integrin β5, respectively.
Applications:Western Blot: This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human Integrin β5.
The detection limit for rhIntegrin β5 is approximately 2 ng/lane and 10 ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions, respectively.
In this format, this antibody shows less than 5% cross-reactivity with Integrin β1, -β2, -β3, rmIntegrin β4, -β6, and -β7.
Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile TBS with 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
