• FUT5 (alpha-1, 3-fucosyltransferase 5; also Fuc-TV) is a 43kD member of the glycosyltransferase 10 family.
• It is responsible for the terminal step in the synthesis of Le, sialyl-Le, and Le antigens.
• This is accomplished by the transfer of fucose to preexisting LacNAc or sialyl-LacNAc structures.
• Human FUT5 is 374 amino acids (aa) in length.
• It is a type II transmembrane Golgi glycoprotein with a C-terminal lumenal domain (aa35-374).
• The catalytic domain spans aa77-374, while the acceptor-binding motif includes aa120-126.
• FUT5 is the product of a single exon gene.
• Thus, there are no splice variants.
• FUT5 only occurs in primates; there is no rodent ortholog.
• Applications:Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, ELISA and Western Blot.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilutions:ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml.
• The detection limit for rhFUT3 and rhFUT5 is ~0.3ng/ml
• Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml.

• Immunoprecipitation: Used to immunoprecipitate rhFUT3/5 from conditioned media of transfected NSO cells
• Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C.
• Stable for 12 months at -20°C.
• Reconstitute with sterile PBS.
• Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
• Store at -20°C.
• Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
