SEC61 alpha subunit isoform 1 (SEC61a1), a member of the SECY/SEC61-alpha family.
SEC61a1 is an integral membrane protein which is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum.
The protein appears to play a role in the insertion of secretory and membrane polypeptides into the endoplasmic reticulum.
