Visfatin is pre-B cell colony-enhancing factor 1(PBEF), which is predominantly secreted from visceral adipose tissue both in humans and mice.
This protein has also been reported to be a cytokine (PBEF) that promotes B cell maturation and inhibits neutrophil apoptosis, or a visceral-fat derived hormone that acts by binding and activating the insulin receptor.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA (Direct and Indirect): 1:2000-1:5000Western Blot: 1:2000-1:5000 using ECL.
Suggested blocking and dilution buffer is PBST with 0.05% Tween 20 with 5% skim milk.
Incubation time: 1 hour at RT
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
