Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK) is a 125kD non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase that was discovered as a substrate for Src and is a key element of integrin signaling.
FAK plays a central role in cell spreading, differentiation, migration, cell death and acceleration of the G1 to S phase transition of the cell cycle.
Phosphorylation of tyrosine 407 is activated by TGFb and Epithelial Mesenchyme Transition (EMT).
Unlike other sites on FAK, tyrosine 407 is EGFR independent.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western blot, Immunocytochemistry andImmunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:1000Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:Chicken embryo fibroblast (CEF) cells expressing FAK protein and plated on fibronectin.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
