Mammalian cyclin-dependent protein kinase 1 (cdk1)-also known as cdc2 in yeast-is the catalytic portion of a cyclin/cdk complex.
It is known to associate with both cyclins A and B.
Upon activation, cdk1 induces cells to progress from the G2 phase of the cell cycle through mitosis.
This occurs when threonine 14 and tyrosine 15 are dephosphorylated in the presence of the phosphatase Cdc25.
This relieves the inhibition on cdk1 phosphorylated on threonine 161, allowing it to become active.
Myt1 and wee1 act to re-phosphorylate threonine 14 and tyrosine 15, causing inactivation.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Western Blot: 1:1000Immunoprecipitation: 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:HeLa cells treated with nocozadole
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
