Pax-5 is a B-cell-specific activator protein (BSAP).
In the early stages of B cell developmemt, Pax-5 influences the expression of several B-cell-specific genes, such as CD19 and CD20.
Pax-5 is expressed primarily in pro-, pre-, and mature B cells, but not in plasma cells.
Interestingly, Pax-5 mRNA is transiently detected in the mesencephalon and spinal cord during embryogenesis.
Expression then shifts to the fetal liver and correlates with the onset of B lymphopoiesis.
This indicates that Pax-5 is important in B cell development, but may also have a role in proper neuronal development.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 2-4ug/ml for 2hrsImmunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:25 for 30 min Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
