Myelin basic protein accounts for about 30% of the proteins in myelin from the central nervous system.
It is best known for its capacity to induce experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE), a T-lymphocyte mediated disease due to delayed-type hypersensitivity; though each animal species appears to respond to a different fragment of the 170aa polypeptide.
Myelin basic protein is expressed in oligodendrocytes, myelin of white matter in the brain and spinal cord and in peripheral nerves.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:100-1:200 for 30 minutes at RT.
No special pretreatment is required for the immunohistochemical staining of formalin/paraffin tissues
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
