RSV is so named from the formation of syncytia, or multinucleated masses of fused cells.
Two virally specified surface glycoproteins are prominent in RSV.
The large glycoprotein is designated G and the other fusion protein is designated F.
In addition, two distinct groups may be present in RSV, Group A and/or Group B.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Neutralization, Fusion inhibition and Immunocytochemistry.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Immunofluorescence: 1:480ELISA: ~1:10,000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Fusion Inhibition Titer: >1:256
Storage and Stability:Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks.
For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt.
Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
