Diphtheria Toxin catalyzes the ADP-ribosylation of eukaryotic aminoacyl-transferase II (EF-2) using NAD as a substrate.
This reaction forms the basis for its toxicity toward eukaryotic organisms.
The toxin is secreted as a single polypeptide chain of about 63kD, it is then processed to form A and B fragments both of which appear to be required for toxicity.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Fluorescence Microscopy, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry and conjugation.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
