Cytomegalovirus is an enveloped double stranded DNA virus which in humans (HCMV) is commonly known as human Herpes virus 5 (HHV-5).
Glycoprotein B (gB) is the main antigenic protein within the envelope of HCMV.
It is required for HCMV mediated membrane fusion along with the gH / gL complex.
The unprocessed precursor of HCMV gB is 906aa in length, with a MW of ~100kD.
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunocytochemistry and Western Blot.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:ELISA: 1:200-1:1000Immunohistochemistry: 1:20-1:200Western Blot: 1:20-1:200Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP).
Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.
HRP conjugates are sensitive to light.
