It binds NF-kB, retains the complex in the cytoplasma, prevents it from entering nuclear and functioning as a transcription factor.
Upon receiving a variety of signals, IkBa undergoes phosphorylation at serine residues by a ubiquitin-dependent protein kinases and finally degraded by the proteasome.
Free NF-kB then binds to DNA and affects gene expression.
Applications:Suitable for use in Western Blot.

Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:2000Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C.
Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
