The vesicular monoamine transporter is responsible for the vesicular uptake of monoamines, like dopamine, norepinephrine, epinephrine, serotonin and histamine.
Applications:Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry.
Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution:Immunohistochemistry (Frozen sections): 1:800-1:1200 using FITC.
Incubation time overnight at 4°C.
Absorption with 10-100ug immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes staining.
Dilute after reconstitution with 0.15M PBS, 1% BSA and 0.1% sodium azide.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Recommended Positive Control:Frozen sections of rat small intestine.
Storage and Stability:Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C.
Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Store at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Specificity:Recognizes rat VMAT2. Recognizes monoaminergic neurons of the CNS, the ECL-cells of the stomach, as well as enteric nerve fibers. Absorption with 10-100ug immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes staining. Species Crossreactivity: Guinea pig (in fundus tissue, only positive on nerve fibers; endocrine cells are negative); most mammals including human, canine, mouse, hamster, as well as chicken and frog. Negative with porcine intestinal tissue.
