The LIM motif defines a zinc-binding domain that is found in a variety of transcriptional regulators and proto-oncogenes products.
LIM domain mediates protein-protein interactions and, with LIM-homeodomain proteins, act as negative regulators of the transcriptional activation function of the protein.
This transcription factor is required for embryonic survival and for the determination of many cell types.
Applications:Western blot analysis of LIM-1 in muscle lysate.
A protein band of an approximate molecular weight of 60kD was detected.
Human muscle lysate can be used as a positive control and a band at 60kD will be detected.
Recommended Dilution:Western blot: 0.25ug/ml
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%).
Freeze at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
