• Histones are relatively small proteins that contain a high proportion of positively charged amino acids, e.g., arginine and lysine.
• This positive charge allows histones to bind tightly to the negatively charged DNA.
• There are five basic types of histone molecules called H1, H2A, H2B, H3, and H4.
• Histones are abundantly present in virtually all eukaryotic cells.
• Applications:Suitable for the detection of Histone H2B by Western blot.
• Human peripheral blood cell lysate or Jurkat cell lysate can be used as positive control.
• An approximately 15kD band is detected.
• Western blot analysis of Histone H2B in human PBMC cell lysate with antibody.
• Recommended Dilution:Western blot: 2ug/ml
• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
• For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%).
• Freeze at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
• Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
