特徴

• Heparin Cofactor II (HCII) is also known as heparin cofactor A and dermatan sulfate cofactor.
• It is a single chain glycoprotein produced in the liver.
• It circuates in plasma at a concentration of 50-100ug/ml (0.8-1.5mM).
• HCII is a member of the Serpin family of proteinase inhibitors.
• HCII exhibits a relatively narrow specificity and is only know to inhibit the serine proteinases thrombin and chymotrypsin.
• The inhibitory activity toward thrombin is accelerated up to 1000- fold in the presence of optimal concentrations of heparin.
• Unlike Antithrombin, thrombin inhibition by HCII is also enhanced by dermatan sulfate.
• HCII has an apearent molucular weight of 65.6kD.
• Interaction with thrombin results in a covalent 1:1 enzyme-inhibitor complex of 102.6kD.
• Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunoelectrophoresis.
• Other applications not tested.
• Recommended Dilutions:Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
• Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
• Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
• Store at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
• For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
