Presenilin 1 and presenilin 2 are transmembrane proteins belonging to the presenilin family.
Mutation of presenilin genes has been linked to early onset of Alzheimer’s disease, probably functioning through its associated gamma-secretase activity for amyloid-beta protein processing (1,2).
Endogenous presenilin mainly exists in a heterodimeric complex formed from the endoproteolytically processed N-terminal (34kD) and C-terminal (~20kD) fragments (2,3).
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation.
Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:Western Blot: 1:500Immunoprecipitation: 1:100Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage, store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
