IFNg induces a variety of biological responses, such as antiviral, antiproliferative and immunomodulatory activity in sensitive cells.
Activation of the IFNg receptor (IFNgR) leads to auto- phosphorylation of the Janus kinases JAK1 and JAK2, and the nuclear translocation of the transcription factors Stat1a p91 and Stat1b p84.
The IFNgR is composed of at least two chains, designated IFNgR1 and IFNgR2.
Although expression of IFNgR1 is sufficient for ligand binding, it alone does not confer responsiveness to IFNg.
Concomitant expression of IFNgR1 and IFNgR2 is required for transcriptional activation of IFNg- inducible genes.

Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:Neutralization: 0.5-2ug/ml using ~2ng/ml of Recombinant human Interferon gamma.
Measured by it’s ability to neutralize IFN-gamma r1/cd119-mediated inhibition of EMCV-induced cytopathy in the HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cells line
Western Blot: 0.1ug/mlImmunocytochemistry: 5-15ug/ml.
Immersion fixed human peripheral blood mononuclear cells
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
