• Type 1 protein phosphatase (PP1), a serine/threonine phosphatase, is highly conserved in eukaryotic cells.
• Four isoforms of PP1 have been characterized: PP1 alpha, PP1 delta, PP1 gamma1 and PP1 gamma2 (1).
• One of the biological functions of PP1 is involved in the cell cycle regulation (1).
• It has been illustrated that PP1 dephosphorylates pRB and cdc25 during mitosis (2,3).
• The activity and specificity of PP1 is highly regulated by regulatory subunits and targeting proteins (4).
• A cellcycle dependent phosphorylation at threonine 320 of PP1 alpha by cdc2 kinase has been reported recently.
• This phosphorylation inhibits PP1 alpha activity (5).

• For long-term storage, store at -20°C.
• Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
