Lamins are nuclear membrane structural components that are important in maintaining normal cell functions such as cell cycle control, DNA replication and chromatin organization (1,3).
Lamin A is cleaved by caspase-6 and serves as a marker for caspase- 6 activation.
During apoptosis, the 70 kD lamin A is specifically cleaved to a large (40-45 kD) and a small (28 kD) fragment (3,4).
The cleavage of lamins results in nuclear disregulation and cell death (5,6).
Applications:Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Flow Cytometry.
Storage and Stability:May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
For long-term storage, store at -20°C.
Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C.
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
